I took a walk through Delville Wood
I took a walk and cried
I cried for men who’d lived
I cried for men who’d died

I took a walk through Delville Wood
And she walked by my side
And in her eyes I saw
She could not hold the tide

We took a walk in Delville Wood
We took a walk and smiled
Because we knew that as we walked
God walked by our side.
